Coveware published their Quarterly Ransomware Report on November 4, 2020. One of the continuing trends in 2020: Average and median ransom payments continue to rise. Here are some quick ransomware payment statistics from Coveware’s Q3 2020 Ransomware Report.

Q3 Highlights

• The average ransom payment for Q3 2020 was $233,817. This is up 31% from Q2 2020.
• The median ransom payment for Q3 2020 was $110,532 – up 2% from Q2 2020 ($108,597).
• The biggest change in ransomware payment statistics is that attackers are targeting much larger enterprises, which overs higher profit margins for the illicit industry.
